What I am Thankful For

It's Thanksgiving Day! While everyone is feasting on turkey, watching football, and falling asleep in a food coma, we all should be thankful for everything and everyone we have in our lives. As a USF fans, there are a lot of things to be thankful for. Here are five things I am thankful for.

USF Soccer Winning - It has been a rough year for athletics, but the men's soccer team, ranked 6th in the nation, has moved to the third round of the NCAA Tournament. They are winning games, bringing in huge crowds, and continue to be one of the best programs on campus. With a great coach, a brand new stadium, and a incredible team, we are thankful for them. Please keep winning to keep our hopes up through the winter.

Young players on football team - Football has been sliding recently, but there are bright spots. Players such as Elkino Watson, Deonte Welch, Andre Davis, Reshard Cliett, Mavin Kloss, and others are getting a chance to prove themselves on the field early and often this season. While the team struggles, they continue to give the fans hope. They are the future of the program and will hopefully lead the team to more wins in the very near future.

Future for basketball - Basketball isn't the most successful sport on campus, but there is a renewed energy in the programs. With the new Muma Center, the Sun Dome getting a redo, and coaches with young teams and great recruiting classes, there is hope for both teams. They will have a long season, but the fans are showing more excitement and hopefully it will equal more wins.

New facilities on campus - Within the last few years, the facilities on campus have undergone a huge transformation.  From the new football fields, to a new soccer stadium, baseball/softball complex, and the Muma Center, the athletics program has grown up in  a hurry.  With the Sun Dome coming along, the future for athletics is a bright one.

Fan support - Finally, we are thankful for you USF fans.  We wouldn't be where we are today without your dedication to our blog and reading our material.  The USF fan base is forever growing and we are proud to be a small part of it and thankful for the fans that follow us.  Everyone, enjoy your Thanksgiving and enjoy the food coma that is coming!
