USF MBB Takes on Auburn

The Bulls take on Auburn in a huge road game for the Bulls (Picture: www.gousfbulls.com)
The USF Bulls, 6-4, are hitting the road again after a strong showing against FAMU. The Bulls got plenty of players involved as they deal with sickness and Dority transferring. They will now face a 4-1 Auburn team on the road as they try to get a key road win and get ready for conference play (game is at 9PM).

Auburn is led by junior guard Frankie Sullivan (6-1 206-pounds) who is averaging 12.8 points a game and 5 rebounds a game. Senior forward Kenny Gabriel (6-8 209-pounds) is averaging 11.4 points a game and 7.2 rebounds a game, so look for him to battle Anderson, Gilchrist, and Fitzpatrick in this game.

Sophomore guard Varez Ward (6-2 208-pounds) is averaging 11.4 points a game, 4.2 rebounds a game, and has 26 assists on the season (around 5 assists a game). He is shooting 45% from 3-point range, so Collins and Nash will have to close out on him and make sure he is not able to get clean looks at the basket. Junior center Rob Chubb (6-10 242-pounds) is averaging 11 points a game and 4.4 rebounds game, playing a huge role in the paint for Auburn. Sophomore forward (6-6 210-pounds) is averaging 5.4 points a game and 4.6 rebounds a game.

Look for sophomore guard Chris Denson (6-2 172-pounds) has 10.6 points a game and 2.2 rebounds a game, playing a huge role off the bench. Junior guard Josh Wallace (5-10 170-pounds) has 6.6 points a game as well.

This is a real measuring point for USF. Auburn is not that great, coming off of a bad 59 to 81 loss on the road to Seton Hall. USF is feeling better off of their win over FAMU and will have some of their key players healthy as they try to get a huge win on the road. This will be a close, low scoring game as USF tries to get ready for the Big East conference portion of the schedule.
