Big East to Add Navy in 2015

From CBS Sports - Thought the conference expansion talk was over? Think again. According to CBS Sports, Navy is set to join the Big East starting in 2015 as a football-only member.

Navy would join the conference starting in 2015 with Boise State, San Diego State (both as football-only), SMU, Houston, and UCF joining in 2013 for all sports. This would raise the number of teams in the conference up to 11 with the departures of Pitt, Syracuse, and WVU. John Marinatto still wants a conference championship but would need one more team in order to make that happen.

The Big East is still in legal battles with WVU and there is no decision yet if they will be in the Big East for the 2012 season (deal might be reached with them at some point).

So what does this mean to USF? It simply means the team can schedule another conference game starting in 2015, reducing the amount of non-conference games the team can schedule pending the addition of another Big East team to get the total to 12.
