Bulls Bits: News from the Weekend

It was another busy weekend for USF athletics. While baseball, softball, and both basketball teams were in action, there was other news to report.

The first and most important was the status of David "Boo" Simon who was transported to a local hospital after suffering two seizures (from Greg Auman). There been no determined cause yet for Simon who redshirted last year. Football is not important right now, so we wish him and his family good health and hope he recovers soon.

In lighter news, Coach George Kiefer once again landed the top JUCO soccer player in the nation with the commitment of Edwin Moalosi out of Lincoln College (Auman). The star out of Botswana scored 21 goals last year for Lincoln College and is a teammate of Stiven Salinas. This is a great sign for USF as they continue to sign big time stars that will only lead USF to higher levels.

While Kiefer was signing a star player, Coach Heath lost a commitment (per Rivals.com). 2012 guard DeMarcus Holland, decommitted from USF and reopened his recruitment as he landed an offer from his home state of Texas (Longhorns). His teammate, Zach LeDay, remains a firm commitment for Heath. Heath still has commitments from Waverly Austin, Musa Adul-Aleem, and Javontae Hawkins. Heath will now have two scholarships available as he looks to finish up the recruit class and build upon this great season.
