USF Beats Villanova 65 to 51

Hugh Robertson had 14 as the Bulls pulled away from Villanova late in route to their 16th win of the season (Picture: AP)
The USF Bulls, looking to defend their home court, were able to pull away in an early defensive battle 65 to 51. The game was tied at 20 all at the half, but the Bulls were able to pull ahead after a flagrant foul against Nova and a technical on Jay Wright that gave the Bulls the lead and momentum, they never looked back after that as they improve to 16-10 (9-4) on the season (that is not a typo, trust me on that).

Hugh Robertson had 14 points and 2 rebounds on the night.  Anthony Collins continues to shine in his first season.  The growing freshman had 10 points (decided to take a three (which he made) and drove the lane to attempt a throw down dunk), 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.  Victor Rudd  had 14 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists.  Ron Anderson Jr had 4 points and 10 rebounds on the day as he continues his incredible play in the post.  Augustus Gilchrist had 7 points and 3 rebounds in a quiet night for him.  Toarlyn Fitzpatrick had 4 points and 2 rebounds.  Jawanza Poland had 10 points and 4 rebounds in the game (including a few Playstation type plays).  Blake Nash had 1 assist and 1 rebound and Shaun Noriega knocked down 2 free throws at the end of the game.

This is just another huge win for Coach Heath, the team, and the program.  The Bulls have 16 wins, 9 conference wins, which is just unreal considering how bad they were last year.  The team is starting to get talked about for...(won't say it, not yet).  The Bulls will return to action on Sunday night as they hit the road to take on Pitt at 7PM.
