No one likes to lose a game. No one likes to lose a game by 30-points either, like USF did on Saturday morning, dropping their Big East game against Georgetown 45 to 75. USF scored just 5 points in the first 15 minutes as the Hoyas scored at will and the Bulls struggled to hit the broad side of a barn with their shots. The 30-point loss is the worst against a league opponent since the Bulls joined the Big East in 2005.
The Bulls are still 6-4 in the Big East, but the 13-10 overall record is not good. Non-conference losses to Old Dominion, Penn State, and Southern Miss hurt the Bulls early in the year and now as the schedule continues to intensify, the Bulls must rally if they truly want to be considered for a postseason tournament like the NIT.
13 wins is a vast improvement from last year and 6-wins in conference play is a huge accomplishment, but the team can't be satisfied. If they want to be a great program and be consistent in the league, 30-point losses are not the way.
The Bulls return home to take on the red-hot Pitt Panthers who have won 4-straight Big East games and seem to be finding their stride. USF got sucker punched against Georgetown and truly needs to find a way to beat Pitt and help restore confidence in the team.
