Sara Nevins Throws Perfect Game as Bulls Roll

The USF softball team continues to roll as they beat Toledo 2 to 0 today to improve to 19-4 on the year and while the final score is nice, the performance from star pitcher Sara Nevins was the real story.

The sophomore left hander threw a perfect game, 7 innings, 14 strike outs, no walks, the second straight no hitter from her and the first perfect game in her bright young career.  The pitching for USF has been strong all year, but the performance of Nevins is one for the record books and won't soon be forgotten.

The offense did just enough to get the win as well.  Gina Kafalas went 1 for 4 with a steal.  Alexis Nowell went 1 for 2 with an RBI and Kenshyra Jackson went 1 for 2 with an RBI as well.

The Bulls will return to action on Spring break week as they host Canisius on Wednesday night at 7PM.  Make sure to get to the field to support the ladies as they go for win number 20!
