Late last night, Coach Fernandez and team got incredible news as they were invited to the Women's NIT tournament. In 2009, the ladies won the NIT tournament and now will have another chance to return to the postseason in hopes of continuing their season.
The Bulls finished the regular season with a mark of 17-15 (8-8) and advanced to the second round of the Big East tournament. They also finished the year with an RPI of 91.
The Bulls will face FAU of the Sun Belt Conference in the first game (in the Rec Center on campus). FAU went 17-12 on the season, but was just 4-7 away from home while USF was 9-3 on campus. USF beat FAU last year, 80 to 46, so they will look to repeat that feat and advance to the second round of the NIT.
