USF Softball Wins Another on a Walk-off Home Run

The USF ladies are getting accustomed to this late inning walk-off home runs. The Bulls, in the 8th inning, got a blast from Kenshyra Jackson that gave USF the victory, improving their record to 25-5 on the year as they continue this impressive first half of the season before the start of conference play.

Sara Nevins pitched well in this pitchers dual of a game. She worked 5 innings, allowing just 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, and struck out 7. Sam Greiner was great in relief, working 3 innings, allowing two hits, and one walk as the defense turned a key double play in the top of the 8th to send a serious scoring threat for UMass. Offense was at a premium tonight. Gina Kafalas went 1 for 4, Laura Fountain went 1 for 3, D'Anna Devine scored the first run, but the big blast came from the bat of Jackson.

The Bulls will play another double header before they start conference play on Saturday. USF will host Hartford at 5PM and then face North Texas at 7PM on campus before Rutgers comes to town over the weekend.
