Three Bulls Named to All Big East Teams

As the Big East tournament gets underway, 3 Bulls were honored for their efforts this season, leading the team back to the Big East tournament and an outside shot at the NCAA tournament (have to win a lot more games to make that happen).

Outfielder James Ramsay and RHP pitcher Derrick Stultz were named 2nd team All Big East.  Sophomore Ramsay had a break out season, batting .332 (led team) with 8 doubles, 2 home runs, drove in 29 runs, and stole 13 bases while playing great defense.  Senior Stultz returned from shoulder surgery last year to go 8-1 on the season with a 3.76 ERA.  He tossed 76.2 innings, allowing 66 hits, 21 walks, and struck out 55 batters while holding opponents to a .236 batting average against him.

Senior Andrew Barbosa was named first team All Big East.  The 6-8 RHP returned from Tommy John surgery to go 7-5 this season with a 2.37 ERA.  He worked a staff best 83.2 innings, allowing just 50 hits, 20 walks and struck out 103 batters, showing his powerful fastball (opponents hit just .178 against him).

USF will take on UCONN tomorrow night at 8PM, but we tip the cap to the great accomplishments of these young men after an outstanding season.
