2011 stats: Giddins started all 12 games last year at the left defensive end position. He finished the year with 44 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, 3 QBHs, 3 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery. He totaled a career high 11 tackles against UCONN and was named 2nd team all Big East.
Position on depth chart: Giddins is the starting left defensive end coming out of the spring. Giddins has the size and strength needed to hold the corner against the run game and has the speed to rush the passer.
2012 projection: Giddins is the Bulls top pass rusher. He got off to a somewhat slow start last season, but became a complete player later in the year, causing trouble off the edge. As he continues to mature in the defense and get better with each snap, we could see a monster year from Giddins and even more sacks and tackles for loss with his ability to get into the backfield.
