#4 - Jerrell Young's Forced Fumble on Notre Dame's Opening Drive
The hype surrounding this opening game of the season was huge and Notre Dame
came out swinging on their opening drive. The Irish drove the length
of the field behind the skill of running back Cierre Wood. Wood
gashed the USF for big runs, working his way down to the USF 2-yard line and it
appeared as if it would be an easy score for the Irish and a complete momentum
swing to their side; senior safety Jerrell Young had other ideas.
Wood ran a power run off tackle to the left and Young and the secondary, who were playing up close to the line, met them head on. Young was able to get his arm into Wood's grip just as he was losing momentum and the play could have been called dead and ripped the ball out. The ball flew to the outside and cornerback Kayvon Webster, who was defending a wide receiver on the outside, scooped up the ball and raced it back for a Bulls touchdown. There were no whistles, the play was reviewed, and the momentum was on the side of the Bulls.

While the game itself (which is another
big moment from the season) was huge, this play was one of the brightest
moments from the season. As a fan
sitting and watching at home, when it happened I jumped off my coach, screaming
and jumping around. It was like watching
a movie when it happened and helped the Bulls in route to a huge win.
