After taking a look at the huge offensive performance the Bulls put on against FAMU, the number 8 moment took place off the field and before the season even began. It was an opportunity to meet the team and coaching staff despite the insane weather in the area that day.
During fan fest, the team revealed their new uniforms, but that was just one part of a great memory from the 2011 season. |
2011 Fan Fest
The Fan Fest is always a fun time for everyone to come to meet the players, get autographs, shake hands, and hang out in the stadium with the team and the extended Bulls family, but in 2011, the weather decided to make it a challenge.
Myself and a few friends were able to tailgate before the rain came pouring down and forced us to take shelter inside the stadium. We made our way to the field, but the rain forced everyone into the inner tunnels of Raymond James Stadium, but instead of the team packing up for the day, they stayed. We were able to walk around the tunnels and find all the big time players just hanging out and shared in a few laughs and conversations with them.
The highlight was getting the chance to meet Coach Holtz. As the day wore on the team eventually packed up and got on the buses, but Holtz still had a long line waiting to meet him. Instead of just leaving, he stayed, taking the time to talk to every fan and shake their hands. It shows his character and makes me even more proud to have him calling the shots for the Bulls. There was a lady in front of me that was a teacher at a
local elementary school and Holtz took the time to right out a long message to
the students just for her class. Holtz
is the definition of class.
While moment number 8 didn't involve a football play on the
field, it was one of the best moments from the season.
