USF Baseball Falls in the Second Game to SJU

The Bulls dropped the second game of the series against St. John's, 2 to 6, dropping them to 30-17 (13-7) on the year.

Joey Lovecchio struggled again in his start, working 5.2 innings, allowing 7 hits, 6 runs, 1 walk and struck out 4 batters.  Adrian Puig went 1.1 innings, allowing 2 hits and struck out a batter.  Andrew Loynaz followed him working 1 inning, allowing a hit and struck out one batter.

The offense had a hard time getting going in this one.  Alex Mendez went 2 for 5 as he continues his strong play in this series.  Todd Brazeal went 0 for 4 again, but drove in a run.  Kyle Copack, getting the start at third again, went 1 for 4 and scored a run.

The Bulls will try to take the series tomorrow at noon as they look to improve their standings in the Big East conference.
