Incoming 2012 Recruits Without Roster Numbers

Football is still over 60 days away and as we all sit and wait for a huge season, we will take a look at the players that enrolled as part of the 2012 recruiting class but do not have a roster number yet.  Here they are and what they can do for the 2012 team.

Kofi Amichia - OL - 6-4 255-pounds - Powder Springs, Georgia (McEachem High School)

Amichia is a long, athletic offensive lineman that will most likely redshirt this upcoming season.  He will need to add some weight in the weight room and will be behind other talented offensive lineman that have more practice and game time than him.

Kameron Davis - OL - 6-6 280-pounds - Oakland Park, Florida (Northeast High School)

Davis, like Amichia, will probably redshirt, but has more size than him to start with (good thing).  Davis projects as an inside guard, but could play at tackle as well.  Unless there are a ton of injuries this season, he will redshirt.

Guito Ervilus - DE - 6-5 225-pounds - Orlando, Florida (Oak Ridge High School)

One of the more intriguing signings in this class, Ervilus, listed as an athlete, will get a chance at defensive end (how the coaches recruited him).  With Anthony Hill out for the year, there is need for depth at the end position and if Ervilus can learn quickly and demonstrate his skill at practice, he could be a key reserve this year.

Aaron Lynch - DE - 6-6 270-pounds - Cape Coral, FL (Notre Dame transfer)

While technically he is not part of the 2012 recruiting class, Lynch will be on campus this fall.  He is a big time pass rusher that could be a force, but will sit out this season (NCAA transfer rules).  USF will look at a hardship waiver for him, but it seems unlikely to happen.

Jarvis McCall - DB - 6-2 185-pounds - Seffner, Florida (Armwood High School)

McCall won't have to travel to far to get on campus from Seffner. The Bulls added several JUCO players and have solid depth that has emerged this spring, so he may redshirt this season.  If not, he could play sparingly or on special teams.

D'Vario Montgomery - WR - 6-3 2315-pounds - Winter Park, Florida (Winter Park HS)

Montgomery, a 4-star recruit, is one of the biggest names in the 2012 class.  There are a lot of expectations surrounding him as he enrolls.  Coach Holtz has noted that despite the deep and talented receiving corps, he has a chance to play this season. Look for him to make a big impact this year.

Daniel Perry - DE - 6-7 212-pounds - Fort Lauderdale, Florida (University School)

Perry is a very interesting prospect.  He has the length, but needs to add a lot of weight this season.  He will most likely take a redshirt.

Michael Pierre - RB - 5-11 200-pounds - Huntington Beach, California (Golden West C.C.)

Pierre, another JUCO signing by Holtz, will enroll this fall and could help add major depth to a need position.  Pierre has solid speed and the ability to cut and get up field.  With depth questions at running back behind Demetris Murray, he could get plenty of carries this season.

Sean Price - TE - 6-4 232-pounds - Citra, Florida (North Marion High School)

Price, arguably the biggest prize in the 2012 class, has a lot of high expectations around him and rightfully so.  He is a big body target that can get down field and due to his physical style, can beat linebackers and is a nightmare for a corner to cover.  The Bulls have depth at tight end this season, but with his skill, the Bulls will get him on the field, whether if it's at TE, WR, or the H-back position.

Jalen Spencer - DB - 6-1 185-pounds - Pensacola, Florida (Pensacola High School)

Spencer is another athletic defensive back that will get a chance to play on special teams or as a reserve if the team needs him, but with the depth ahead of him already, a redshirt is most likely.

Tashon Whitehurst - LB - 6-2 190-pounds - Gainesville, Florida - (Gainesville High School)

Whitehurst, teammate of early enrollee Chris Bivins, is a very fast and athletic linebacker.  The Bulls have a lot of young linebackers on the depth chart, so he may redshirt to gain more weight.
