2011 stats: Welch emerged late in the season, grabbing 4 starts towards the end of the year due to other injuries to starting receivers. He finished the year with 31 receptions for 433 yards and 1 touchdown, including a long reception of 37 yards.
Position on the depth chart: Welch did not appear on the second spring depth chart, but was on the first depth chart and is battling for a starting position on the depth chart for the fall (may have kept him off the last spring depth chart fr motivation).
2012 projection: Welch showed a great ability to chew up the yards after the catch (YAC master as some like to call up, love the name) last season and came up with big plays late in the year. The wide receiver position is very deep with talent but Welch is a special talent that even if he is not named a starter in the first week of the season, he will get plenty of playing time and will continue to put up big numbers.
