New Depth Chart Revealed, Including a New Change at Right Tackle

It's almost time.
With the season opener against UTC just 5 days away, the Bulls and the coaching staf are making their final preparations for the highly anticipated game.  The Bulls released a new depth chart today and there was a slight change at one of the key positions (click here for the full depth chart).

Note that since the team is playing against UTC, and if the score is in the Bulls favor late in the game, The quarterback position is still the same with Daniels and Floyd behind him for the opener.  At running back, Murray, Shaw, Lamar, and Davis are all listed to get some playing time.  At wide receiver, Andre Davis is a starter ahead of Sterling Griffin.  At the other wide receiver spot is Terrence Mitchell ahead of Chris Dunkley.  At the slot position is Derrick Hopkins (never started a game in his career) over Deonte Welch and Victor Marc.  Ruben Gonzalez and D'vario Montgomery are not listed.  At tight end, Andreas Shields is listed as a co-starter with Evan Landi.  Sean Price is next with Mike McFarland behind him.

On the line, Darrell Williams is still the starter at left tackle with Mark Popek at left guard.  Danous Estenor is at right guard and the new surprise is Max Lang at the right tackle position, beating out Quinterrius Eatmon.  Eatmon started all 12 games last season at the right tackle position, but was limited due to headaches last week, so it could be precautionary steps to give him more time to recover, but should be healthy for the game on Saturday.

On the defensive side of the ball, starting on the line, Ryne Giddins is the starter at the edge with true freshman Eric Lee behind him.  Tevin Mims is the new starter at the edge and Julius Forte is there behind him (Daniel Perry being pushed back by a step).  Grissom and Sager are the starters at tackle and Elkino Watson and Todd Chandler as the back-ups.

At linebacker, Sam Barrington is moved back to SAM, with Reshard Cliett as the number two behind him.  Mike Lanaris is the starter at MIKE with Ruben Garcia behind him.  Dede Lattimore is still the starter at WILL and Mike Juene behind him.

The secondary is also more set now with Kavyon being the starter (of course) and Montgomery behind him. George Baker is the other starter, with Kenneth Durden backing him up (no Josh Brown or Chris Bivins listed on the depth chart).  Mark Joyce and JaQuez Jenkins are the two starters at safety as well.

Overall, there are not a lot of shockers aside from Max Lang at right tackle now and Barrington moving back to the SAM position.  Also seeing Hopkins getting the nod at the slot receiver position, it is very interesting to see how that position works and how the other wide receivers are rotated in and out for the Bulls.

Can it please just be Saturday?
