Five Key Match-ups for USF vs. Rutgers to Watch

(Picture:www.gousfbulls.com)
Rutgers is a very disciplined team that will match up well with the Bulls, posing all sorts of individual battles to watch, let's take a look at some of the most important ones that could determine the outcome of the game.

LB Sam Barrington vs. RB/KR Jeremy Deering - Senior Sam Barrington and the front seven have played well, but facing a speedy runner like Deering that has been a wide receiver, can move out of the backfield and still rush well will be a major factor to watch during the game.  Barrington will have to keep an eye on Deering and RU runners to make sure they do not get to the outside and cause a bunch of issues.

Defensive Line of USF vs. QB Gary Nova - The talented pass rushers for the Bulls have to continue to get after the quarterback and Nova, not as agile as Fajarado was for Nevada will be a great chance for them to pin their ears back and get after him.  Nova moves well in the pocket, so Giddins, Mims and the tackles will have to swarm, contain and take him down so he can not find his targets down the field and make him watch the game from his back.

CB Kayvon Webster vs. WR Brandon Coleman - At 6-6, Coleman is the big time receiver for the Knights and top corner Kayvon Webster (if he is able to play) will have a tough team facing him and dealing with his size.  Kayvon is a smart player that is physical and has great speed, allowing him to sit on a receiver and take them out of their game, but against Coleman he will need to be at his best.

RB Demetris Murray vs. LB Khaseem Greene- Murray is the big time rusher for the Bulls and will again be the primetime ball carrier, but facing against the talented linebackers and star Greene it will tough.  Greene is just a monster and already destroying defenses so facing Murray and protecting Daniels when needed will be key to keep the Bulls offense going and not on the sidelines after a 3 and out.

USF Tight Ends vs. Rutgers Secondary - The USF tight ends have a major size advantage in this game, but the RU secondary has a lot of experience so they will know how to cover the big, talented targets for the Bulls.  Landi, Shields, McFarland, and Price will need to run great routes and use their hands to become big targets and give the USF offense even more weapons.
