USF Men's Soccer Can't Hold Lead, Settle for Tie

The Bulls jumped out to a strong lead in the first half, going ahead 2 to 0 into the break, but the defense failed late allowing Butler to score two late goes (4 minutes apart of each other) and scoreless in both overtimes, putting USF to 4-1-1 on the year.

Leston Paul got the Bulls on the board first in the 32nd minute on an assist from Roberto Alterio.  The Bulls struck again in the 37th minute on a turnover in the Butler box as newcomer Samuel Hosseini got the ball through to give the Bulls the strong lead.  The second half however, it didn't go Coach Kiefer and company's way.  The Butler Bulldogs got a goal in the 78th minute on a rebound shot and then just 4 minutes later, got another goal against Eric Osswald (made just 1 save on the day).

The Bulls, who have been so good late in games, let this one slip away.  They will face Akron on Sunday night (game begins at 7:30PM).  They will need to be at their best and cannot afford late half mistakes and allow a top team like the Zips to take advantage.
