USF Volleyball Falls in Tough Battle; Women's Soccer Rallies Late to Win

It was a busy night for USF athletics as the volleyball team and the women's soccer team were both in action on the road.

The Bulls fell in 5 sets to Southeast Missouri State, dropping them to 2-5 on the early season.  USF had the lead, but SEMS took the 4 set to push it to 5 where the Bulls fell 15 to 9 in the final frame.

Andrea Rodriguez Gomez had 17 kills, 5 service aces, and 3 digs.  Wylie Devlin had 48 assists and 10 digs in the game.  Valerie El Houssine had 16 kills and 22 digs.  Ciara Brown had 9 kills and 3 digs (rising freshman for Coach Draper, mark my words).  Claudia Cabrera had 11 digs as well.  The Bulls play two games tomorrow, first at 11AM against Evansville and then at 8PM against host team Saint Louis.

Olivia Chance came up huge late for the Bulls to give them the win.
The USF women's soccer team, after a long rain delay in Charleston, battled the College of Charleston to take their first game of the tournament 2 to 1 and improve their record to 3-3-0 on the year.

After Charleston struck first in the 15th minute, the Bulls regrouped after halftime and went on the attack.  USF tied the game in the 71st minute on a huge goal by Olivia Chance on an assist from Bianca Norman.  The Bulls kept the attack up and once again, Chance struck again, in the 87th minute on an assist from Daniella Andrade to give the Bulls the huge win.  USF will face Kennesaw State on Sunday at noon.
