USF Volleyball Takes on James Madison to Open the USF Tournament

Freshman Wylie Devlin has had a major impact in the center of the offense (Picture: www.gousfbulls.com)
The USF volleyball team, after taking the tournament in Saint Louis (4-5 on the year) returns home to open its own tournament, the USF tournament. The ladies will get started with a match against James Madison, who entered the day at 5-5 (note that JMU played Bethune Cookman in the morning, the stats do not include that game). The game starts at 6PM so it’s time to get loud and cheer the ladies on!

JMU is led by senior outside-hitter Danielle Erb (6-0) who leads the team with 109 kills, 9 service aces, and 95 digs on the season.  Senior outside-hitter Natalie Abel (5-11) has 76 kills, 5 service aces, and 37 digs (typically rotates in and adds tremendous depth off the bench).  Sophomore middle-blocker Lizzy Briones (6-0) has 99 kills, 25 digs, and 34 blocks on the season.  Freshman outside-hitter Megan Niski (5-11) has 34 blocks, 83 kills, and has 104 digs on the season.  Senior setter Megan Wiechmann (6-0) has 18 kills, 332 assists, and 78 digs, setting the table on offense.
The ladies need to come out in this game and simply take over and have the momentum to do so.  After taking two straight games in Saint Louis, the team is rolling and with top players such as Valerie El Houssine, Wylie Devlin, Andrea Rodriguez Gomez, and Kayla Walton making huge plays, the team will come out strong and hopefully grab a big win here to start the weekend off.
