Boyd Back to Cornerback

Spencer Boyd, the Notre Dame transfer, that came to USF as a cornerback, then switched to wide receiver, is moving back to cornerback in 2011 (according to Greg Auman).

Boyd, the 5'9" 175-pound speedy playmaker that came to USF after leaving Notre Dame, deciding he wanted to be closer to home, decided that cornerback is where he wants to play his final 3 years. Boyd had made the moved to corner during the bowl practices and is deciding to stay put. There are only 4 corners listed ahead of him, so he could see a lot of playing time next season.

Boyd is a very fast and very physical player. He has good lateral speed and can keep up with any wide receiver. He is a bit small, only 5'9" and a bit undersized, but he will be able to matchup with most wide receivers step for step and is physical enough to fight for the ball, making him ideal for the corner position.
