Bulls Face Off Against Cincinnati

The Bulls are hoping to end their 6-game slide, but that will be a huge challenge as they go on the road to face #25 Cincinnati tonight. The Bearcats, 15-1 (2-1) just lost their first game of the season and will be out for revenge as the Bulls come to town.

The Bulls have lost 6 straight and have suffered two straight defeats to ranked opponents after pushing them to the limit. The Bulls led at one time against Villanova and were close to the Cardinals in the last few minutes. The road doesn't get any easier as they face a Bearcat team that is very athletic and pounds the ball into the paint at will.

The Bearcats are led by Dion Dixon (6'3") guard who averages 12.6 ppg. He will be a tough matchup for the USF guards who have struggled this year against teams with good guard play. He is joined by Cashmere Wight who averages 9.2 ppg and 3.6 apg (assists per game). This will be a tough matchup for Crater as both players like to run the floor and use their quickness to set up their respective offenses. Inside the Bearcats are led by Yancy Gates (forward) who averages 12.1 ppg and Ibrahima Thomas who averages 7.3 ppg and 6.6 rpg (rebounds per game). They will challenge the inside court of Famous, Anderson, and Gilchrist.

The Bulls are going to have a tough time in this one. Cincinnati is a very fast team, has excellent shooters, and can dominate the paint and they are playing at home. The Bulls will have to get going on the offensive end and clamp down on defense if they want to stay close in this one. I think the Bulls will play this one close in the first half, which has become natural for this team to do, showing they are close to breaking through, but will fall in the second half. Cincinnati is simply too fast at the guard position and has too many weapons for the Bulls to keep up with for an entire 40 minutes.

My final score prediction: Cincinnati 78 USF 66
