The Bulls play host to the #23 ranked Louisville Cardinals on Sunday afternoon at high noon in the Sun Dome.
The Bulls are 6-10 (0-3) in conference play and have now lost 5 straight. They had a solid 1st half performance against Villanova in front of a crowd of over 4000 before falling apart late in the second half.
The Bulls are lead by Augustus Gilchrist who seems to be hitting his stride at the right time, averaging over 12 points per game after his brief departure from the team. The Bulls will need Gilchrist and Jawanza Poland (averaging 9.9) per game to step up their shooting if they want to compete with the Cardinals. Louisville is led by Preston Knowles who averages 15.1 ppg and guard Peyton Siva who averages 11.3 ppg and 4.7 apg (assists per game).
This is going to be a very tough game for the Bulls who are facing a team in Louisville that focuses on defense, much like Coach Heath likes to play. Expect a low scoring first half for this game as both teams play solid defense, but the second half, the depth of the Cardinals may be too much for the depth and talent of the Bulls. The Bulls will have to rely on their big men, Gilchrist, Anderson, and Famous to compete and play defense and hope that their guards, Poland, Crater, Burwell, etc. are able to contribute something in this one.
I see the Bulls losing this one too: Louisville 76 USF 64
