Ladies Face Tough Road

The USF ladies have enjoyed years of success under Coach Fernandez, making to the NCAA tournament and mulitple NIT appearances, but this season, they are struggling. For years the Bulls had Jessica Dickson and Shantia Grace leading the offense, shooting the lights out and stacking up the wins.

The Bulls have offense is the Smith sisters, Porsche Grant inside, and Jessica Doomes-Stephens on the wing. But the team has had too many cold shooting starts in many games, often falling behind, but rallying only to fall short. Or the Bulls simply go cold late in games, much like against Providence, a lower type team in the conference, a game the Bulls usually win, but the second half, the team simply could not make a shot and the defense could not make enough stops to help the team.

The Bulls now are 9-8 and 0-3 in conference play. The ladies have a streak of post season appearances, but this is now looking like it will come to an end. The Bulls face a tough ranked DePaul team and still have multiple games against ranked teams, like UCONN (uh oh). So the team has to get it together and get some wins or less they will continue to fall in the conference ranks and be at home this postseason, something the team is not accustomed to.
