The Bulls have speed on defense and one of their top players is corner back Quenton Washington. Washington will be entering his senior season this year and he hopes to end his impressive career on a high note as the Bulls hope to take home the Big East title in 2011.[keep reading]

Washington, 5'10" 190-pounds, is a gifted corner that plays well in both zone coverages and man-to-man coverage. In 2009, Washington played in 11 games for the Bulls, showing he could match up anywhere on the field. This season, Washington burst onto the scene totaling 54 total tackles on the season, a very high number for a corner, showing he is not afraid to come up and punish the ball carrier. He had 1 tackle for a loss and 4 pass break ups, showing his ball skills in passing situations.

Washington has progressed fast in Mark Snyder's defensive system, learning his zone blitz packages and continuing to get better in pass coverage. He is hard worker and has impressed the coaches since day one with his dedication to get better both in the weight room and in the film room.

Coming into the 2011 season, Washington is teaming up with Kayvon Webster, Jerrell Young, and John Lejiste, forming one of the most athletic and fast secondaries the Bulls have ever had. Washington is becoming a big time defensive player and is looking to end his senior season as one of the best corners in the Big East. With his skill set and teammates, look for Washington to have a huge season locking down the USF secondary.
