Bulls Beat DePaul, Avoid Big East Basement

Round two of the BATTLE OF THE BASEMENT was an intense fight (wish Cleveland Melvin was able to play) and the Bulls were able to rise above and get the first road win of the season, 86 to 76. The Bulls were able to build a solid first half lead and never lost it, taking care of the full court press, a small shoving match, and the usual turnovers.

Augustus Gilchrist had a career high 32 points in the win as he was able to dominate inside and showed excellent range from the field (been waiting for this type of game for awhile now). Shaun Noriega was able to find his range again and scored 13 points, but was a bit late on a few defensive plays as he continues to grow. Hugh Robertson had a quiet 12 points. Ron Anderson Jr. had 8 points and 10 rebounds and was vital to breaking the full court press that DePaul threw at the Bulls as they tried to make a stand at home but were not able to execute. Jarrid Famous had 15 points off the bench as well and seems to be playing better now.

The Bulls are now 9-20 (3-13) and will host #6 Pittsburgh on Senior night on March 2nd at 9 PM. The Bulls are hoping to make a stand at home and hope they can build some confidence as they head into the Big East tournament.
