Rough Weekend for Baseball

The Bulls opened up their new home this weekend with great fanfare and sell out games, but the opening series against Elon took a turn for the worst today as the Bulls fell 5 to 7 in 16 innings.

The game lasted 16 innings, the longest game in program history. The Bulls bullpen was not able to hold the lead the Bulls had and the offense was not able to capitalize in the late innings. The Bulls struggled all series to get their offense going and the bullpen continued to plague the team despite great starting pitching (Barbosa left yesterday's game with an arm injury, but is expected to be fine and should be ready to go for the next weekend series).

The Bulls get little time to rest before they travel down to Miami to take on the Hurricanes on Tuesday at 4 PM. The Bulls need to get the season turned around quickly if they hope to make a stand in the Big East and reach the NCAA tournament at the end of the season.
