NSD Recap

Well the NSD is finally coming to an end and the Bulls put together a solid class for 2011. There are several players that could make an impact this season as Coach Holtz and staff continue to bring in the players that fir their system best. [keep reading]

Zack Bullock - LB - 6'3" 205-pounds

Bullock is a solid linebacker that has a nice burst of speed, allowing him to play in pass coverage. He has room to grow and become a more solid tackler. He will probably redshirt this season, but will be on special teams and eventually in the starting linebacking rotation very soon.

Edsel Caprice - LB - 6'2" 200-pounds

Caprice is a 3-star recruit that has a bit more upside than Bullock. He is able to rush and get to the quarterback and can drop back in coverage easily. He is smooth in his movements and has room to fill out more. He will probably redshirt as well, but could find his way onto the field if he is able to put together a solid Spring and Fall.

Andre Davis - WR - 6'1" 180-pounds

One of the most decorated USF recruits, Davis is a good receiver that has sure hands and runs excellent routes. He can get up field and battle any defender for the ball. He doesn't have blinding speed, but is able to create space and elude defenders in the open field. If he is able to make big time strides in Fall practice, he could potentially play this year.

Willie Davis - RB - 5'11" 190-pounds

Davis is a fast, small running back that is a terror when he is able to escape to the outside. He has a nice burst, but will probably redshirt as he hits the weight rooms this year. He has potential in both the running game as well as the return game due to his speed.

Kenneth Durden - CB - 6'1" 170-pounds

A very aggressive defensive back with good ball skills, Durden will need to redshirt to get stronger to matchup with the top receivers in college football. He is very talented and a smart player that in two years could be starting and anchoring the secondary.

Matt Floyd - QB - 6'2" 190-pounds

An early enroller, Floyd is a solid quarterback with both a strong arm and good accuracy. He can scramble, but is better at dropping back (fits Holtz's system better). He will be in Spring practice, which gives him a learning edge, but he could potentially redshirt this season. He may be the next USF starter of the future.

Chris Garye Jr. - DB - 6'3" 202-pounds

Garye is a punishing hitter that made a living lighting up the ball carriers. He needs some work in pass coverage, but his tackling and physical ability will get him on special teams early in his playing career. He projects best as a safety at this stage.

Ruben Gonzalez - WR - 6'3" 200-pounds

Gonzalez is a big target that is a very physical target. He has above average speed and understands secondaries, allowing him to work a defense and get open. He could play early on special teams and will give the USF QBs a solid target that can get downfield easily.

Brynjar Gudmundsson - OL - 6'3" 205-pounds

A big offensive lineman that is being called a tough, nasty blocker, excellent. He will probably redshirt his first year with the Bulls as he adds weight to his big frame, but he will join the starting offensive line rotation early because of his pass and run blocking ability.

Corian Hamilton - DB - 6'2" 210-pounds

Hamilton is a solid defensive back that can both play the ball well and also come up and hit a ball carrier in the hole. He is a type of player that may be able to find his way on the special teams unit because of his skills and will be a big time player in the secondary in the very near future.

Mike Jeune - LB - 6'1" 220-pounds

A solid linebacker that enrolled early in Spring out of community college that should be part of the starting linebacking rotation. He is a sure tackler and is able to get back in pass coverage as well. He will be an excellent blitzer as well and will make an impact this season.

Thor Jozwiak - OL - 6'4" 270-pounds

I love the name. Thor will be in the starting rotation due to his size and ability to block in both pass and running situation. He is very physical and is able to take on any blitzer that comes at him. His footwork is excellent and as he develops his hand skills he will be an everyday starter.

Max Lang - OL - 6'4" 276-pounds

An aggressive lineman that could make an impact early in his playing career. Lang has great footwork and will only improve his size and abilities this fall. Expect him to play early if everything goes right for him. He is too talented not to have on the field for the Bulls.

Alex Mut - WR - 6'3" 185-pounds

A solid receiver with above average speed. He has a torn ACL, but got the scholarship and will redshirt this season. Once he recovers, he can become a nice, solid possession receiver for the Bulls and help open up the passing game in the coming years.

Clavion Nelson - DE - 6'4" 225-pounds

An explosive defensive lineman that is able to get off the corner and rush the QB easily. He has plenty of strength to hold up against the run game and in time as he develops could become a great playmaker for the Bulls. He has tons of potential and in time will be a big time player.

Antoine Pozniak - LB - 6'3" 220-pounds

A solid linebacker that enrolled early that will have a chance to prove himself in the Spring. He is very athletic and has excellent speed to allow him to rush and coverage in passing situations. He could be part of the rotation at linebacker and on special teams as well.

David Simmons - OL - 6'5" 284-pounds

A big offensive lineman that will only get stronger, Simon will be in the mix to be part of the starting rotation of an offensive line that is looking for players at this point. He is a solid blocker that is improving his skill and will help anchor the line in the coming years.

Ty Turner - TE - 6'3" 240-pounds

A solid tight end prospect, Turner helps add depth to a position that is just beginning to come back to the passing game. He is a solid player that has enough size and skills to become a solid player in the near future. He will probably redshirt this year, but should become a solid player in the near future.

Elkino Watson - DT - 275-pounds

The biggest surprise this season, Watson is a 4-star recruit that decided to join USF. He is an explosive player that has tons of potential and has the coaches giddy right now. He could play this year due to the lack of depth and his skill set.

Marquis White - DT - 6'4" 310-pounds

An under the radar prospect that has tons of potential and size to be a terror on the line. He is very explosive and can be an anchor in the running game and also has more than enough speed to get to the quarterback. He should be in the mix in the starting rotation this season or on special teams.

Darrell Williams - OL - 6'5" 245-pounds

A solid lineman that is just beginning to scratch the surface of his potential. He could be a lineman or even a tight end, he is very athletic and the coaches want to get him working ealry in his career. He will be a solid player for the Bulls and could switch positions as well.

This is a very brief overview of the incoming prospects. I will have indepth looks at some of the key players that are coming in over the next few days as football spirits seem to be fired up for the Bulls now. A great day for the Bulls!
