Senior Night for the Ladies

Please come out tonight to support Coach Fernandez and the ladies as the end the regular season. (Picture: Tampabay.com)
The USF ladies are at home for the last time this season as they host #19 Georgetown (21-8 (9-6)). This is the final game of the season as the Bulls end a tough season and prepare for the Big East tournament.

With a record of 11-18 (2-13) the Bulls are out of the postseason for the first time in years, but the team has played well all season and has battled in every game (finally breaking through last week against Villanova).

The Bulls are graduating two seniors tonight. F/C Leondra Doomes-Stephens has had a solid season for the Bulls battling on the wing and in the paint. The 5'10" senior has averaged 6.9 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. She had been a solid presence rebounding in the paint and has helped in scoring and been one of the most consistent players for the Bulls all season. It will be sad to see her leave and I thank her for everything she has done this season and throughout her career.

Senior center Porsche Grant won't play in this game after her incident at Rutgers, but will still be honored tonight as she graduates. Grant, the 6'2" presence in the paint for the Bulls, has been one of the best players for the Bulls over the past few seasons in the paint. This season she has averaged 6.9 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game. It is tough to see her on the bench for the final game of the season, but she has played a huge role in the program's history and I thank her for everything she has done.

Everyone needs to come to the game tonight to cheer for the ladies. They have had a bit of a rough season, but have played tough, battled hard, and are still one of the most successful programs in school history. Thank you ladies for a great season.
