News for USF Basketball

The 2010-2011 season is over, but two new stories after emerged (via Greg Auman).

Junior forward Augustus Gilchrist has put his name into the NBA draft. Now before fans panic, Gilchrist is not going to hire an agent, meaning he can return to school and withdraw his name. By placing his name in the draft, Gilchrist will be able to see where he stands in the draft selection and if he would be selected or not. He has plenty of time to withdraw his name and return, so for now we wait and see.

Coach Heath has been busy recruiting and has received a verbal commitment for the class of 2012 from point guard Anthony Collins. The 6' 172-pound guard from Westbury Christian School in Houston, Texas says he is verbally committing to Heath and staff and has fallen in love with USF. USF doesn't have a scholarship available for this incoming recruiting class, but is expecting someone to leave the program. There will be more on this recent commitment later.
