Crater Injury Doomed USF

Anthony Crater went down at the end of the 1st half and so did the Bulls chances of winning this game (Picture: Yahoo!Sports)
This season is finally over and after a 10-23 campaign, many are glad this brutal season is over. Hand it to the Bulls, they came out and played as hard as they could against Villanova and got the major win, but Cincinnati was ready for them. When Crater went down, it was over. With no depth behind Crater at the point guard position (poor preparation by the coaching staff there), the Bulls had no trigger man to get the ball up court and lead the attack. Burwell got a few seconds, Dority and Haynes took over from there, but both were freshman and being in the second round of the Big East tournament against the 25th ranked team in country, that is a very tough way to get experience.

Crater subluxated his shoulder after getting the steal in the last seconds of the first half. As he planted his arm down on the court, he said he felt something pop and was in tremendous pain. He wasn't able to raise his shoulder and the coaches had no choice but to bench him for the second half. Subluxating is very similar to a separation, but instead of a full separation, the shoulder moves slightly out of the socket. It can cause tendon, ligament, and even muscle issue if it is severe enough, but not a full separated shoulder.

I've been hard on Crater all season, but seeing him go down last night made me sad. He is only point guard we have on the team. He does play well and is a good defender. He does have speed and understands the offense. Losing him proved to the Bulls that they need him on the court. I will have more on the future of the team, grading reports for the entire team, and much more.
