T.J. Knowles Transferring

From Greg Auman - Practice resumed yesterday for the Bulls and the team was a bit sloppy but played hard and continues to work every day. A surprising note is the transfer of T.J. Knowles.

The 6'6" red-shirt junior has informed Holtz and staff that he will transfer back to his home, Nevada. The reason for the transfer is due to personal issues, according to Holtz.

Knowles was a late addition to the Bulls last season and never made a big impact in the receiving game like many hoped for. He had 3 catches for 13 yards and missed a lot of playing time due to illness and never got back into shape and on the field. This Spring, Knowles has played well, but is still behind in the depth chart and has decided that he will transfer away, although he did not indicate which school he would be transferring to.

I am sad to see Knowles leave. He could have been a big redzone threat due to his size and hands, but the Bulls have plenty of depth at receiver entering the season and it doesn't appear that Knowles would have been a starter on opening day. Good luck to the young man and his future.
