B.J. Daniels will be just one of many players to keep an eye on during the Spring game. |
As the Bulls take the field on Saturday, there are plenty of positions to watch and some special players to watch as well. Here are the 5 players I will be watching on Saturday.[keep reading]
B.J. Daniels - An obvious pick here, but Daniels is the one player that could take this team to glory or doom us. Daniels had a rough 2010 season, but he came to life in the win over Clemson. Can he continue the progression at quarterback and will he be able to move the offense effectively. The pressure will be on him this year as the Bulls finally have depth at QB. Daniels needs to come out strong in this first Spring game and separate himself in the QB decision.
Demetris Murray - The junior running back is the most experienced returning runner for Holtz, but there is a lot of competition behind him. Aycock and Scott will get their carries, but heading into the Spring, Murray is the main back that can either define himself as the starter or continue the discussion into the fall. Murray can be a target in the passing game and should have a solid season.
Armando Sanchez - The USF Swiss army knife, Sanchez played linebacker last year and was a standout on special teams. This season, due to need and his ability, Sanchez is moving to fullback. Will Sanchez be able to learn the offense quickly and help the running game and can he physically get out and block on every play and help protect Daniels and open running lanes? It's a hard position to play, but Sanchez could be the guy we need there.
Reshard Cliett - The one time defensive back has made the move to linebacker and is listed as the 2nd team starter. Cliett has put on some weight and continues to work hard, impressing the coaches. Cliett is a very talented player and the coaches can't wait to put him on the field. I can't wait to see how good this young man can be out there.
Mark Joyce - The hard hitting safety from Deland came on strong last year and is on the 2nd team right now. Joyce is a hard hitter, not afraid of contact and has Mark Snyder and Holtz smiling about his potential . With Young limited right now, Joyce will get plenty of playing time and should make a big impact this year.
