Randy Fontanez is taking the mound today as he hopes the Bulls' offense will support him. |
The Bulls got washed out on Wednesday night (as did most of Florida) and the team missed their regularly scheduled matchup with UNF (no make-up date has been announced yet). So the team is packing up (bringing their jackets) and heading up to the city of brotherly love to take on Villanova.
The Bulls enter this weekend series with a record of just 10-14 (1-2) while Villanova isn't fairing much better at 11-13 (1-2).
The Bulls will send Randy Fontanez, who is 2-2 on the season, to the mound today as he hopes to get the Bulls back on the winning way. USF has had some success in the past against the Wildcats, posting a career record of 9-5 against the team and winning 6 of the last 9 against them (www.gousfbulls.com for the data).
The Bulls really need to make a statement today (first pitch is scheduled for 3:15 today). The offense has to come to life and help support Fontanez who is doing everything he can on the mound. The Bulls are not a terrible team, but they can't seem to put everything together for a consistent series, now is the time to do that.
The Bulls, after the weekend series, will travel to Jacksonville to take on Jacksonville University on the 5th and 6th. This is a great chance for the team to get it together and get back over .500 or it could end in disaster and put the squad near the bottom of the conference.
