USF Softball in Action Today

Gina Kafalas and the Bulls travel to New Jersey this afternoon to take on Rutgers.
The ladies, in the midst of a 10-game winning streak, are on the road this afternoon as they take on Rutgers in a pivotal double header in New Jersey.

USF, 27-15 (7-0) is starting to attract a lot of national attention, getting votes in the college ranking. The Bulls have been dominating their opponents lately, both with offense and unbelievable pitching. Gina Kafalas continues to hit well from the lead off spot, she is hitting .367 on the season. Stephanie Medina is .358. Laura Fountain is hitting .274, but has come up with a ton of clutch hits and continues to swing well. Kourtney Salvarola is hitting .317 and has 6 home runs on the year.

The pitching is just as dominant as well. Sara Nevins is 10-5 and Lindsey Richardson is 10-5 as the two combine to make a dynamic pitching staff.

The Bulls will have a tough matchup however in this double header. Rutgers 16-21 (4-5) is in the midst of their own 6 game winning streak and feeling strong right now. The Bulls lead the series 11-2 all time, so hopefully they remember their history and know that we will win this little series.

First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM and 3 PM for the second game. Cheer for the ladies. Stayed tuned to the Bull Rush for post game wrap ups. Go get'em ladies!
