The rough day for USF got a little rougher with another loss for USF baseball, falling 9 to 5 to UCONN.
After scoring just 1 run the night before, the Bulls were able to get 5 runs across the board. Jonathan Koscso went 2 for 5 with an RBI. Todd Brazeal went 1 for 4 with an RBI, James Ramsay was 1 for 4 with an RBI, and Chad Taylor was 2 for 4. But the pitching failed to get the job done.
Junior Carlin made his 4th start, going just 4 innings, giving up 5 hits, 3 runs, walked 2, and struck out 2. He is now 1-2 on the season. Andrew Longley came in for "relief" but let the game get out of hand, giving up 4 hits and 3 runs in just 1 inning of work as the UCONN hitters flexed their muscles and put themselves ahead of the Bulls for good and took the series.
The Bulls are now 22-24 on the season (11-9) and face the Huskies tomorrow afternoon at 1 PM. The Bulls are sliding right now and facing the best of the Big East and simply can't hang with UCONN at all. The Bulls were out dueled in the first game pitching and were out slugged this afternoon, so there isn't much they can do. The Bulls are hoping to get at least one game tomorrow and limp home before they face North Florida.
