In the last regular season series, the Bulls split the double header against DePaul, taking game one 4 to 2, then falling in game two 13 to 5.
The Bulls got a dominating pitching performance from Sara Nevins, who pitched a complete game, allowing just 5 hits and 2 runs while striking out 7 on the day, snapping DePauls 16-game winning streak. She is 15-7 on the year and continues to anchor the Bulls in the circle. Kourtney Salvarola was 1 for 4 on the afternoon and drove in 2 RBI. Stephanie Medina was 0 for 2 but drove home a run.
Game two wasn't as great for the Bulls as the pitching got roughed up a bit, Brittany Bowles taking the loss. An hour rain delay took its toll on the Bulls, but they had their chances in this game, but DePaul put too many players on base and simply flexed their muscle in this one. Ashli Goff was 2 for 3 with an RBI, but not much else was cooking on the offense for the ladies.
The Bulls play the final game of the regular season tomorrow morning at 11 AM with the Big East regular season title already handed to DePaul due to the win by ND over UCONN, but the ladies can get the number two seed and set themselves up for a big run in the Big East tournament and hopefully the NCAA tournament, so wake up early in the morning and cheer on the Bulls as they look to take the series against DePaul.
