USF Offers 2012 Defensive End

Recruiting news and updates never get old. The Bulls have offered 2012 defensive end prospect Sheldon Rankins, but may be late to the party.

The 6-3 255-pound 3-star athlete (according to Scout.com) out of Covington, Georgia (Eastside High School) is getting a ton of early attention and could already be leaning towards one school.

Boston College, FAU, Louisville, Nebraska, Stanford, and now USF are some of the program after Rankins, but he appears to be leaning towards UNC, listing them high on his boards. While he has not stated he would be committing early, he will be attending camp at UNC later this summer and that could easily win his verbal commitment.

The Bulls have a ton of offers out there to high school prospects and keeping track of all of them can be daunting, but is noticeable with Holtz in his second season, while he continues to recruit Florida hard, he has extended a lot of offers outside the state. While this is not surprising and not bad, it is interesting to see where he continues to offer players, especially Georgia. Maybe Holtz is going back to his ECU days and his old recruiting grounds, but hopefully he will have his wall around Tampa built first and keep the local stars around and then go after the out of state players.
