USF Drops Exhibition Game to Jacksonville

George Kiefer's Bulls got off to a bit of a rocky start last night, dropping the first exhibition match to Jacksonville 1 to 2. (Picture: www.gousfbulls.com)
The 2011 soccer season didn't get off to a great start last night as the Bulls dropped the first of their two exhibition games 1 to 2 to Jacksonville.

The scoring happened during the second period. The Bulls allowed an own goal against them then a defensive mis-communication between GK Chris Blais, making his first start in net for the Bulls, and his back line that got him out of position and allowed the other goal (sigh).

Leston Paul took just one shot on the night. Former junior college player of the year Dom Dwyer led the offensive attack, taking three shots and scoring the lone goal on the night. Dwyer (5-9 180-pounds, originally from England) looked great moving across the field and could be a go-to scorer this season if this is what he brings to the game.

The Bulls will take the field again next week against the University of Tampa in their last exhibition game before the start of the season.

  1. "Lone" not "loan" in the 2nd paragraph. This blog keeps getting better, if you all need an editor to take it to the next level, I can point someone your way. Let this anonymous grammar dictator know.

  2. Ha, thanks for that catch, I really need to get more coffee in the morning before writing. I think we will be alright for now, but we are growing and more and more content is flowing out, so we may down the road.
