USF Women's Soccer Takes on Clemson

USF women's soccer is hoping to get a full game in during their last exhibition game before the season starts.
The USF ladies will try to avoid the rain as they head on a road trip to take on the Clemson Tigers of the ACC conference (game is scheduled for 7 PM).

After being rained out against FGCU, the Bulls are looking to get a full game of play under their belts before they open the season against UCF on August 19 in Orlando (good old Mickey Mouse University).

Clemson is coming off of a rough season. They finished with a record of 6-12 in 2011 including 3-5 mark at home, so they aren't a powerful team, but do have a strong corps of young players on the field that can cause trouble.

Maddy Elder, the 5-7 junior forward, scored 5 goals last season and also put in 3 assists so the Bulls will have to slow her down as she is the leading returning scorer and can make plays as well. Vanessa Laxgang the 5-3 midfielder returns after scoring 4 goals and chipped in 2 assists last season. Jackie Dutton, the 5-4 sophomore forward scored 2 goals and had 2 assists last season and is another player the Tigers will turn to on offense. Their goalkeeper Lauren Arnold (5-5 sophomore) is coming off of a strong freshman season. He played all 18 games for the Tigers, averaging 4.94 saves per game and saved a total of 89 last season. This shows she is a gifted player on defense and also that the Tigers defense is not as sharp as they would like and the Bulls have to attack them hard and often.

Chelsea Klotz, the senior leader and leading returning scorer (named preseason All Big East) will look to get on track as the season fast approaches. Alex Hosey had the lone goal on Tuesday and could continue to rise if she is given a chance to play (tough with the senior lineup on the field). Molly Stack and Kelly Campbell will continue to get ready and will look to get the defense prepared. Nicole McGlure is also preparing and should have a solid game in his matchup.

We will have the post game wrap up tomorrow morning once the game is over and the results are in. Go Bulls!
