USF Volleyball Takes on Syracuse

USF volleyball  to take on Syracuse night in the first game of the their "Big East" schedule.

The Bulls are 4-8, coming off of a hard fought loss to NIU on Sunday where they dropped three sets out of the four (NIU is ranked 23rd in the country).

Claire Lessinger was proud of her team and believes they learned and became a stronger team after the road test and will need her squad to learn fast as they take on Syracuse.  They have had a solid week of practice and are ready to go to war.

The Orange are 9-4 on the season, posting a 3-0 record at home.

Syracuse is led by senior outside-hitter Noemie Lefebure (5-9). She has 138 kills on the season along with 474 assists and 165 digs. Freshman outside-hitter Andrea Fisher (5-11) has 110 kills along with 310 assists, 39 digs, and 33 blocks (does a little bit of everything for them).

Sophomore middle-blocker Lindsay McCabe (6-1) has 90 kills on the year along with 212 assists, 12 digs and 62 blocks. Junior middle-blocker Samantha Hinz (6-1) has 90 kills along with 10 service aces and 30 digs. Senior setter Ashley Williams (5-6) has 241 digs to lead the team.

The Bulls at 4-8 are facing a tough challenge here. Being 4 games below .500 at the start of conference play is a rough way to get the schedule started, but the Bulls have learned a lot by playing against some of the better teams around the country.

J'beria Davis, Janice Rivera, Valerie El Houssine and others will have to come out hard and try to dominate this game and get the win. A fast start is key if they want to start 1-0 in "Big East" play.
