USF Soccer Takes on Rutgers

The USF men's soccer team, 12-2-2 (7-0-1) won at least a share of the Big East Red Division regular season title with their 3 to 0 win over Cincinnati last Wednesday night, but they want the outright title but Rutgers stands in their way. The Scarlet Knights of Rutgers are their final opponent of the regular season (game starts at 1PM).

Rutgers enters the contest with a record of 9-5-2 (6-1-1) including 6-2-1 at home this season, so it will be a difficult game for the Bulls. USF needs to win or tie to get the outright title, let's see what they will be up against in this game.

Rutgers is led by freshman forward Juan Pablo Correa (6-1 175-pounds). He leads the Knights with 5 goals and 5 assists on the season. Sophomore forward Kene Eze (6-1 170-pounds) has 5 goals and 3 assists as well, giving them a balanced front line.

Senior forward Ibrahim Kamara (6-0 180-pounds) has 4 goals and 4 assists. Senior midfielder Nate Bourdeau (5-10 155-pounds) has 3 goals and 2 assists this season. Senior defender/midfielder Bryant Knibbs (6-0 180-pounds) has 3 goals and 1 assist. Junior midfielder Dragan Namouski (6-0 170-pounds) has 3 assists on the season.

Junior Kevin McMullen (6-1 175-pounds) is the goalkeeper. He has allowed 19 goals (1.25 goals per game) and has made 49 saves (.721). Dom Dwyer and his 16 goals on the season will look to tack on a few more scores as he leads the aggressive scoring attack of the Bulls.

This is going to be a tough test for USF. The Bulls are on a winning streak but will be facing a Rutgers team that is experienced, playing at home, and full of confidence in this game. Dwyer has been the best scorer in the league and nation this season and will have to lead the attack once more to come away with the win.
