USF Volleyball Takes on Cincinnati

The Bulls lost a hard fought game on Friday night, dropping their second straight game in Big East. The ladies, now 9-13 (5-3) will look to rebound against the Cincinnati Bearcats (game starts at 2PM). The Bearcats are 14-8 (5-2) on the season, but are just 5-5 away from home, another team that USF must beat.

Cincinnati is led by junior middle-blocker Jordanne Scott (6-2) who has 227 kills and 67 digs on the season so far. Freshman setter Cayllin Mahoney (6-0) has 52 kills, 826 assists, and 146 digs on the season. Junior middle-blocker Emily Hayden (6-0) has 149 kills and 12 digs.

Junior middle-blocker Becca Refenes (6-2) has 154 kills and 68 digs. Sophomore Emily Macintyre (5-8) has 293 digs on the year (playing the middle of the court well). Senior outside-hitter Missy Harpenau (6-0) has 270 kills, 25 service aces, and 215 digs to round out a solid team for the Bearcats.

USF really needs a win here. They have dropped two straight games, losing both games in straight sets. They will have to correct some of the errors that have plagued them in the past games and could out strong and focused in this game. Look for Valerie El Houssine, Andrea Rodriguez Gomez, J'beria Davis, and Shelbie Dailey to take over the beat and try to beat a strong Bearcat team.
