USF Soccer Wins Huge Game Over Cincinnati

Dom Dwyer is good at soccer.

The Bulls won a share of the Big East Red Division regular season title last night with an impressive 3 to 0 win over Cincinnati. USF is now 12-2-2 (7-0-1) and will face Rutgers on Sunday afternoon (game is scheduled for 1PM) to decide the outright title winner (USF needs to win or simply tie to get the outright title).

The Bulls, in front of a crowd of 1498 (stadium was packed) got out to a fast lead when Dom Dwyer connected in the 10th minute on an assist from Ashani Fairclough. The Bulls would hold onto this one goal lead until the second half in the 56th minute when Ben Sweat and Dom Dwyer set up senior Sebastien Thuriere for the second goal of the season. Just a minute later, Dwyer hit his 16th goal of the season, putting USF ahead for good on a special night at Corbett.

Kiefer and company celebrated last night as USF won the Big East regular season title (first since 2005), but still have a lot of work to do. They have their sights set on bigger goals, first, winning the Big East regular season title outright on Sunday at Rutgers.

Congratulations gentlemen on winning last night. There are still a lot of games to play and bigger prizes to win this season.
