The roster break down continues as we take a look at one of the key role players for this team, forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick played in all 33 games last season, starting 6 games and coming off the bench to give Heath valuable minutes.
Toarlyn Fitzpatrick - 6'8" 230-pounds - Junior - Forward
Fitzpatrick averaged 4.3 points per game last season and added 4.1 rebounds per game as well. As mentioned before, he played in all 33 games, giving Heath a valuable big man he could use in the paint to help add some offense and help on defense, crashing the boards.
Fitzpatrick is not the best shooter, usually living on dunks and layups, but he plays hard and plays solid defense. He can use his big frame to stop a shooter, close out fast, and get rebounds. With the lack of depth on the front line for Heath, Fitzpatrick will play a key role this season, either starting or coming off the bench for big minutes. He can hold his own and bring down rebounds in bunches.
Actually, Fitzy isn't that bad of a shooter. He's drained quite a few 3 pt'ers during his USF career. He lives on dunks and layups because he generally plays PF or C, but the kid has a nice stroke from the outside.
ReplyDeleteTrue, he does have some range, but not really his game, like Gus. He is better suited playing in the paint with his size and strength there. He will be a key player this season.
