Week 12 is already here (feels like the season is just flying by right now). The contest has taken a turn with Jim claiming second place last week, while Mike continues to hang on to first place. I am praying to make up some room here in this week's picks.
Records entering the weekend
Matt: 38-21
Mike: 42-17
Jim: 39-20
Cincinnati at Rutgers
Matt: Cincinnati angered me last week, losing in the last seconds at home on a field goal. I have doubts in Collaros returning healthy, but Isaiah Pead is a monster and will have to put on a show against the Rutgers defense (even if Munchie gets the start). Whether Nova or Dodd starts for them, I don't see them scoring enough in this game to keep pace with the Bearcats. Pick: Cincinnati
Mike: I was hoping Cincy would go undefeated in the conference, just so one of these teams could look respectable. They still have a chance to win out, though, and I think they're very capable of beating a Rutgers team who really only has one player in Mohamed Sanu. I'm picking Cincinnati.
Jim: Collaros could be out for the season, Munchie LeGaux has now been thrust into the spotlight. While he may not get the job done, Pead will be picking up a lot of slack, and Rutgers won't be able to stop Cincinnati. Pick: Cincinnati
Miami at USF
Matt: Watching the Miami game, their offense does not impress me. Harris is inaccurate and they make mistakes, although their defense is fast and hits hard. USF will have to rely on the offensive line to protect Daneils and get the running game going. It is going to be a tight game, but I have to pull for USF. Pick: USF
Mike: Miami is coming off a loss to FSU last week and both teams are fighting for bowl eligibility. Miami is running out of time more than USF, though, because they just have this game and BC next week. Unfortunately for Miami, they have a great defensive line to stack up against, and that might just be what beats the Hurricanes. I'm picking USF.
Jim: You two got this covered. Pick: USF
Louisville at UCONN
Matt: Another ugly, painful, and sad excuse of a football game here. The Cardinals are hot and cold on offense, but the defense continues to play hard. UCONN can't score that much, but I have personally learned, never go against them, even when it seems to be stupid to go with them. I have to lean towards the Huskies here for no real reason. Pick: UCONN
Mike: I'd rather see these teams both put out of their misery and not have to play another game this year. You want to know what's the crazy part here? Louisville lost to Marshall and FIU and is still going to reach bowl eligibility in the same week as USF (if all goes as planned). I'll go with the Cards this weekend.
Jim: Picking against Louisville out of spite last week seemed to propel me to 2nd place, so now it's time to gain ground on Mike. Pick: UConn
