Next in the series is center Akila McDonald. Like Rowe, the centers for USF have to be athletic and keep up with the fast pace tempo. However, they have to rebound and help out on offense as well. McDonald can do all this and much more.
Akila McDonald - 6-4 - Sophomore - Center
McDonald played in 30 of the 31 games last season, making 11 starts in the process. She averaged 3.3 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game (4th on the team). and swatted 36 shots (1.2 blocks per game).
She has a solid low post game, working hard to the basket, but Fernandez has stated she has developed a mid-range game, making her even more dangerous on offense. McDonald will most likely get the starting job to open the season and look for her to improve on her numbers and help anchor the center of the court for the Bulls.
