USF Takes on UCF in the 2nd Round of NCAA Tournament

The Bulls are home to host UCF in the second round of the NCAA tournament. USF finished the season at 12-3-3, winning the Big East Red Division and earning the 7th seed in the NCAA Tournament. UCF comes in at 12-5-3, beating FGCU on Thursday night in double overtime. Let's take a look at what the Knights bring to the field.

UCF is led by sophomore forward McKauly Tulloch (6-1 180-pounds). Tulloch leads the team with 15 goals on the season and has added 4 assists. He is their most productive striker, so the defensive backline and Chris Blais will have to shut him down. Junior midfielder Nick Robson (6-1 170-pounds) has 9 goals and 5 assists, giving the Knights a solid one-two scoring tandem.

Junior midfielder Kevan George (6-2 170-pounds) who scored the game winner over FGCU has only one other goal on the season, but has 7 assists, usually setting up Tulloch or Robson for the goals. Senior forward Cameron Cooksey (5-8 185-pounds) has 1 goal and 4 assists. Junior forward A.J. Nelson (6-2 165-pounds) has 2 goals and 1 assist on the year as well.

Sophomore goalkeeper Sebastian Evers (6-1 170-pounds) has allowed 10 goals on the season (1.34 - took over in the net later in the year) and has stopped 29 shots as well. Dom Dwyer had 16 goals in the regular season, so look for him to get plenty of chances to fire away.

This is going to be a very intense game. Corbett is allowing free attendance for everyone, so the place will be jumping. Mix in the 3-0 beating USF took last year and the momentum the Knights have from their last win, both teams will be amped for the game, which makes for a great game.
