The USF volleyball team has dropped their last three games and is looking to rebound with a home game against Big East foe Villanova (game starts at 7PM).
The Bulls enter the night with a record of 9-14 (5-5) on the season. Nova enters the game with a record of 15-10 (7-4) on the season, but are just 5-5 away from home, so if USF is able to rally and come together, they can win this game and need to.
Nova is led by junior outside-hitter Morgan Petkovich (5-11) who has 285 kills, 18 service aces, and 226 digs on the season. Senior middle-blocker Maggie Mergen (6-2) has 263 kills, 23 service aces, and 59 digs on the season (does everything for them).
Junior outside-hitter Krista Andersen (6-0) has 234 kills and 65 digs on the season. Freshman setter Allie Dibernado (5-8) has 52 kills, 834 assists (wow), and 180 digs on the season (sets up everything for their offense and counter attacks). Senior defensive specialist Kim Maroon (5-8) has 128 assists and 603 digs on the season, starting up everything for the Wildcats on offense.
The Bulls are starting to slide in conference play and have to come out firing in this game. They have shown fight in all their games, but have not had enough when it counted most. We are looking for Valerie El Houssine, Janice Rivera, Casey Albano, and others to truly step up in this game and take over. Playing at home against a team that is beatable should have the ladies fired up and help them get a big time win.
